The bridging course in Computer Science is offered at the start of the academic year—before the first lectures start, and is aimed at students who have little or no computer programming background. In the course, we introduce the basic concepts of programming
We cover a little bit of theory, but focus on practical programming concepts that students will encounter in the first few months of the Computer Science 114 and Computer Programming 143 courses. The bridging course allows students to become familiar with the programming language, the operating system, as well as the environment in the computer lab, before the semester starts.
